Richard Batterham

After the retrospective in London we had a nice visit with Richard at his home and pottery in Durweston. Little had changed in the twenty nine years since we worked there. The four chambered kiln we repaired had been replaced by a three chambered one. His pottery output is still phenomenal. He still works from nine to six!! Half days Saturday. Richard taught me to find my own " well spring and guard it" . To ignore fad and fashion, to believe in myself that what we do ( functional pottery) is important and a WONDERFUL way of life! THANK YOU Richard!
