Several weeks ago monks from the Gaden Shartse Phukhang Monastery were in town to teach, visit etc. They spent several days at The Open Shutter Gallery creating this Green Tara Mandala. At the closing ceremony the mandala was destroyed and offered to the Animas river to cleanse the environment. Ironically the spill happened weeks later. But no fish kill no bug kill... long term effect who knows yet but perhaps it would have been a lot worse without the blessing.
