I'm trying to eliminate most if not all of the smoke from my wood kiln. Chuck Hindes suggested a wall built approx. 18" from the flue exit.(picture taken before I cleaned up the mortar). This creates what is called a "wasting " chamber. The new reduction kiln will be started as soon as I replace the kiln shed roof. 25 years of salt firing pretty much did it in! I also need to enclose the shed now..... the road goes on forever.....
